JAMMU, Oct 7: Apni Party Women Wing provincial president Jammu, Namrta Sharma today flayed Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for having failed to improve the living conditions of people living within JMC limits.
Speaking at a joining function here, Namrta said that Smart City Jammu project has become an unfulfilled dream for the people here.
“There are poor basic amenities, unscheduled power cuts, irregular drinking water supply and lack of cleanliness in Jammu city,” she claimed adding that the city which attracts religious tourists from across the country should have been developed as a model city with improved basic amenities.
She also said that drains in Jammu remain choked at many places while many localities lack proper cleanliness and sanitation.
“The roads with potholes, traffic congestion and beggars present a bad image of the city,” Namrta maintained.
On this occasion, many women joined Apni Party’s Women Wing and they were welcomed by Namrta into the party folds.
Ritu Pandita, Meenakshi Sharma, Tanu Singh, Renu Rajput, Jyoti Bali and others joined Apni Party.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were senior vice presidents, Pavneet Kour and Jyoti Vaid; district coordinator, Sarabjeet Kour; deputy coordinator, Amrit Choudhary and others.
