JAMMU, Nov 26: Bhatindi police today arrested a Government employee posted at Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) along with intoxicants.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Bhatindi police post laid a naka and intercepted a Maruti Zen car bearing registration number JKO2F-5185.
During checking, police recovered 18 bottles of intoxicants and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Abdul Rashid, son of Ilam Din, a resident of Sunjwan.
The accused is a Government employee and posted as supervisor in Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC). The vehicle and the consignment of intoxicants have been seized.
A case under FIR number 221/14 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Trikuta Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Bhatindi SI Vikrant made the arrest under supervision of SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Rahul Malik and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
