JAMMU, Feb 15: Enforcement staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) led by its Chief Enforcement Officer sealed many shops and demolished structures at different areas here today.
A handout of JMC stated that the sealing and demolition operation was launched under the supervision of JMC Joint Commissioner (Adm) to act tough against the violations and unauthorized constructions in different areas falling under the jurisdiction of JMC.
The enforcement team demolished the three unauthorized constructions of shops being raised by Subash Sharma at Neal Sheel Vihar, Main Road, Paloura while the team sealed five shops of Mohd Farooq Khan son of M.Y Khan at Channi Rama Opp Police Line.
Meanwhile, six shop of Rizwan Ali son of Naziq Ali were sealed at same area in Channi Rama while shop of Bhagat Ram son of Kanshi Ram was also sealed at Main Road, Bhawani Nagar, Janipur.
The action against the violation have been taken under the provisions of J&K Control of Building Operation Act 1988 and J&K Municipal Corporation Act 2000
JMC has once again appealed to the general public to refrain from encroachments and unauthorized constructions otherwise action as admissible under rules leading to demolition or sealing shall be taken against the violators.
