JAMMU, Feb 15: Nine notorious bovines’ smugglers including a woman have been arrested for attacking and injuring Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Bishnah.
As per police sources, on specific information about cattle smuggling, a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Tahir Yousuf rushed to the Lalyana area yesterday.
The police team was attacked by bovines’ smugglers, in which SHO received head injuries.
SHO was shifted to SDH Bishnah and later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for advanced treatment.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and hunt has been launched to nab the cattle smugglers, who managed to escape from the spot by taking benefit of the darkness.
On specific information, police team led by SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan conducted raids in several areas and arrested nine notorious bovines smugglers including a woman involved in attacking and injuring SHO.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
