JMC conducts ‘Clean up Jammu’ sanitation drive

JAMMU, Oct 1: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted “Clean up Jammu” sanitation drive in Ward numbers 16, 17, 18 and 25.
Arun Khanna and Usha Choudhary, Ex-Corporators, members of the Resident Welfare Committees, citizens and social activists participated in the drive led by Kiran Wattal, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation and officers of the Corporation.
The drive started from New Plot, where residents demanded proper lanes and drains in the area.
The team visited different areas of the Wards for making assessment of the sanitation and other services concerning the Corporation.
The Health Officer and Executive Engineers were instructed to start de-silting of drains and construction of deep drains and drains to redress the burning problem of water logging and flooding.
A public meet was also organized at Rehari Colony where interaction took place between the officers of the Corporation and public representatives.
Commissioner assured that JMC will render best possible services at the door step of the citizens and asked them to cooperate in its initiatives. He also instructed for the upgradation of parks at New Plot, Rehari Colony and Jawahar Nagar besides provision of proper street lights in the wards.
