JAMMU, Nov 22: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted anti-encroachment drive at Janipur here.
As per official spokesperson, on the instruction of Mandeep Kaur, Commissioner, JMC, the enforcement staff led by the RS Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (A) along with Rajesh Gupta, Chief Enforcement Officer and Kamini Kesar Enforcement Officer conducted a massive day-long anti-encroachment drive in the Janipur area.
During the drive the team demolished about 25 numbers of platforms and 5 numbers of structure extended towards road side causing obstruction in the free flow of vehicular traffic and also creating hurdles to the pedestrians also thus leading to traffic jams and also creating the problems in regulating the traffic.
The drive has been conducted with the help of police force led by SHO Janipur police station Inspector Ranbir Singh Bhau.
JMC appealed the shopkeepers to remain with in their establishments and not to encroach upon road side.
JMC will continue the drive in other areas within the jurisdiction of JMC so that the general public will not face any inconvenience due to the traffic jams and encroachments upon roadsides.
