JAMMU, Apr 10: The enforcement staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted an anti-encroachment drive in Gandhi Nagar, Nanak Nagar and near Railway Station gate and cleared footpaths and roads by removing encroachments.
The drive was conducted on the instructions of Dr Manmohan Singh, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation and under the supervision of RS Jamwal, Joint Commissioner, (A) Jammu Municipal Corporation,
During the drive, the team removed all the goods kept by the shopkeepers/vendors by encroaching upon footpaths, pavements and road sides creating obstructions in the free flow of vehicular traffic and hindrance to the pedestrian and seized three truck loads of materials like readymade garments, umbrellas, chairs, toys, counters, signboards, plastic material, tables, advertisement materials, steel frames, weighing machines and buckets.
Besides, this the team also seized reharies operating in non rehari zone and impounded the seized materials at Municipal Yard, Town Hall, Jammu.
