JAMMU, Feb 10: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) conducted anti-encroachment drive in the areas on Jammu-Akhnoor road and Indira Chowk.
During the drive, the Enforcement Staff led by the Chief Enforcement Officers of JMC under the guidance of JMC Commissioner Kiran Wattal seized eight truck loads of material comprising of stationary reharies, wooden logs, chairs, benches, wooden frames, crates, steel/wooden platforms, flowers pots, tables, etc and impounded the seized material in the Municipal Yard at Town Hall.
Besides this, the team also demolished 12 temporary structures erected upon pavements and also removed two gensets at Gandhi Nagar, which were a source of obstruction to the pedestrians and hindrance in the free flow of vehicular traffic.
The drive was conducted with the help of police from District Police Lines (DPL), Jammu.
Meanwhile, Municipal Veterinary Officer seized 10 kilograms of polythene carry bags from Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Jewel and Talab Tiloo and fine of Rs 4,300 was realized from the defaulters.
