JAMMU, May 8: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Soujanya Sharma, today carried out a sanitation drive in the city and inspected the sanitary conditions in various areas.
He visited Ward Nos 24, 26 and 39, took on spot assessment of the sanitary conditions and performance of other Municipal services and issued necessary instructions for improvement of civic amenities. The Engineering Section of JMC was asked to undertake minor repairs of lanes and drains immediately.
The public representatives highlighted their respective charter of demands which included proper functioning of existing water coolers, functioning of High Mast Lights as well as repair of existing street lights. The Commissioner assured to the local citizens that all the issues shall be redressed on priority.
The officers accompanying the Commissioner were Executive Engineers, Municipal Veterinary Officer /Zonal Officer II (Sanitation), Chief Transport Officer, Sanitation Officers and Sanitary Inspectors.
JMC Commissioner also appealed to the general public that house hold waste may be properly got collected and disposed of at collection points/Municipal Bins through safaikaramchari to ensure proper cleanliness in their respective localities and to make Jammu city neat and clean.
