GANDERBAL, May 8: To review the arrangements put in place for smooth conduct of Mela Kheer Bhawani, District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Showkat Aijaz today visited the shrine along with senior officials of the district administration.
DDC went around the shrine complex and took stock of the arrangements being made by the administration for the pilgrims on the occasion.
He directed the officers to ensure that devotees do not face any sort of inconvenience. He stressed upon the officers to keep close coordination so that all possible facilities are made available to the devotees during Kheer Bhawani Mela. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure proper cleanliness in and around the shrine complex. Thousands of Kashmiri Pandits are expected to pay obeisance at the temple on May 26.
Later, DDC also visited Government Degree College Ganderbal as well as Physical Education College Ganderbal and took stock of functioning of these colleges. He inspected various classrooms, laboratories and libraries besides accounts and administration sections of the colleges. DDC enjoined upon the college authorities to maintain discipline and regular attendance besides ensuring quality education to the students.
