UDHAMPUR, Aug 7: Jammu Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) has deferred the scheduled protest programme, which was announced earlier to resent the Government order on repatriation of ReTs to their original place of posting.
Decision in this regard was taken by executive body of JKTJAC because of forthcoming Independence Day and the same was conveyed in monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee, which was held here today under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma and District President Udhampur Lekh Raj Parihar.
The meeting was attended by the zonal presidents and executive members of JKTJAC from all the eleven zones. It was informed that the next schedule of the agitation programme will be announced after August 15.
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma strongly resented the Government order on repatriation of ReTs and demanded immediate revocation of the said order. He said that these ReT teachers were transferred under different Government orders and on the orders of competent authority. “Even the High Court has upheld the transfer order and CAT has also endorsed the same by saying that stagnation of teachers minimizes their talent but department is leaving no stone unturned to harass them,” he said and appealed the LG administration and Principal Secretary School Education Department to intervene into the matter and frame a comprehensive transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme who have been working in the same schools for last more than 20 years.
Lekh Raj Parihar also spoke in the meeting and appealed Chief Education Officer Udhampur to release the Mid Day Meal dues of the teachers as they have managed the same from their own pockets.
