KATHUA, May 29: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) staged a protest under the leadership of Amar Nath Thakur, district general secretary of the forum.
During the protest teachers expressed their resentment for not releasing the salary grants under SSA, RMSA and NPS schemes. They alleged that teachers working under SSA are without salary for seven months; their 2nd and 3rd installment of 6th Pay Commission, arrear has not been adjusted due to lack of grant. Pay arrears of ReTs regularization have not been drawn since 2013.
They alleged that teachers working under KGBV scheme are without salary since April, 2012. Amar Nath Thakur and Parveen Singh while addressing the protestors teachers said that there is rampant corruption in the department, transfer order are done of Lecturers, Headmasters and Masters. He said that it is very surprising that list of teachers DPC as Masaters has not been issued but adjustment of masters are done. This is total violation of rules. He demanded a high level enquiry in this regard. He said that no action has been taken against the officials responsible for misappropriation of GPF of master teachers in zone Malhar and Mahanpur.
The Director School Education, Jammu and Chief Education Officer, Kathua assured the transparent enquiry but till date nothing has been done. He demanded that if action is not taken the matter will be brought into the notice of Chief Secretary.
Other who addressed the protesting teachers were Kuldeep Singh, Parveen Singh, Subash Sharma, Subash Chander, Vikram Singh, Balbir Singh, Vijay Sharma, Yog Raj Singh and other.
Later a delegation led by Ganesh Khajuria, State general secretary of the forum submitted a memorandum to Chief Secretary through Deputy Commissioner, Kathua requesting him to release the salary grants under SSA, NPS and RMSA. A reminder was also submitted to Chief Education Officer, Kathua for conducting the enquiry of zone Mahanpur and Malhar and provide justice to teachers by adjusting GPF into GPF accounts before June 15, 2014 and if culprits are not punished, teachers will go on strike and the responsibility of this will be on DSE, Jammu and CEO Kathua.
The authorities have been unformed that Rs 120 crore in Malhar and Rs 6.92 lakh in Mahanpur zone as GPF of Masters and teachers under SSA has been misappropriated.
