SRINAGAR, Apr 15: A two-day consultative meeting for framing regulations of the Jammu and Kashmir School Standards and Safety Authority commenced at JKBOSE, Srinagar, with participation from key stakeholders, experts and representatives from NIEPA, New Delhi, School Education Department, JKSCERT, Higher Education Department, universities of the Union Territory and civil administration.
The meeting aims to develop a comprehensive, robust and contextually relevant regulatory framework for JKSSSA to strengthen quality standards, safety protocols and infrastructural norms across schools in Jammu and Kashmir. The initiative is seen as a major step towards improving governance and accountability in the school education system.
In the inaugural session, Chairperson JKBOSE Gh. Hassan Sheikh chaired the proceedings and emphasized the need for a transparent and forward-looking regulatory structure aligned with the National Education Policy 2020.
Prof Rasmita Das Swain from NIEPA highlighted the importance of incorporating best practices, stakeholder feedback and field-level realities into the regulatory framework.
Over the two-day deliberations, participants will focus on governance structure, regulatory mandates, compliance mechanisms, quality assurance benchmarks and safety standards through presentations, thematic discussions and group interactions aimed at formulating an inclusive and implementable framework for school education reforms in the Union Territory.
