JAMMU, Apr 15: Seventeen students of Heritage School have been awarded with the prestigious Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana scholarship of Rs 6,000 each, instituted by the Department of Posts, Government of India.
The scholarship recognises exceptional performance and active engagement in philately, the study and collection of stamps. The achievement is notable as only 40 students were selected from more than 500 participants across the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, highlighting the competitive nature of the programme. The SPARSH Yojana aims to encourage students to take up philately as an educational hobby, promoting awareness of history, culture, geography and heritage.
