JKSPDC daily wagers continue hunger strike, 2 hospitalized

RAMBAN, Nov 17: The daily wagers of JKSPDC engaged with BHEP continued their hunger strike for the fourth consecutive day.
Around 140 daily wagers of JKSPDC, who are engaged with BHEP are protesting since October 14 and on November 14 they started hunger strike. The protesting daily wagers are demanding regularization of their services.
The protesters alleged that the management and administration have turned blind eye towards them and not coming forwards to redress the grievance.
During the ongoing hunger strike, two daily wagers fainted and are undergoing treatment at District Hospital Ramban, they said, adding that if the concerned department failed to redress our issue of regularization, they were come on road and will protest in aggressive manner and for any untoward incident, the Government and the concerned department will be responsible.
