JKSAC takes up issues with Secretary DM&RRR

JAMMU, Dec 13: A four member delegation of Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) led by its President Gurdev Singh alongwith Roshan Lal, Tarlok Singh Tara and Charanjit Lal met Simrandeep Singh Secretary Disaster Management Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Department (DM&RRR) UT of J&K and sought his attention towards the issues of DPs of 1947 from PoK concerning their one time settlement.
The delegation urged Simrandeep Singh to initiate their case to Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu for adequate compensation for their left out properties, reservation for wards of DPs, defreezing of 8 assembly seats besides other issues as per the JPC report.
Deliberating upon the issues concerning one time full and final settlement of DPs viz-a-viz adequate compensation for the left out properties in PoK, employment package, reservation for their wards in jobs and technical institutions, defreezing of assembly seats of their share, compensation for deficient allotted land as per the prevalent average market rates as per the quantum of deficiency, reimbursement of Rs 2500 deducted uniformly as cost of allotted land by the then Government, mutation of land and plots under their dwelling in different DPs colonies, Gurdev Singh apprised him that JKSAC is struggling relentlessly since 1967 for the resolution of said legitimate issues and have represented at various forums of the UT as well as Centre Governments. He regretted that no serious attention was paid to these human issues.
Simrandeep Singh heard patiently about all the issues and assured the delegation that after studying all the issues in detail the same would be recommended to the UT Government for early redressal.
