JAMMU, May 4: The Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) has expressed strong resentment against the delay being caused by the State Government in disbursement of relief amount of PM;s package among the displaced persons/ refugees.
A meeting of general body of Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee was held at its office Rohi Morh, RS Pura road, wherein, besides the other issues of the DP’s, the participants deliberated upon the present status of disbursement of package of  Rs 2000 crore.
The participants strongly expressed their resentment regarding the inordinate delay being caused in disbursement process by the authorities concerned and asserted that disbursement is highly erratic and not in proper sequence. They urged upon the Govt to streamline the direct benefit transfer system as per the serial order of the list appeared in internet to avoid harassment to DP’s.
While welcoming the reshuffle in Govt and congratulating the new faces inducted in Cabinet, Gurdev Singh,  president said that matter regarding the slow and erratic disbursement is a cause of concern for DP’s and have been brought many times in the notice of authorities both in Jammu and Delhi. Despite  several assurances from both the quarters, no concrete steps have yet been taken to streamline the biometric and DBT system. Instead of coordinating each other, they are involved in blame game causing harassment to DP’s. More than 3000 beneficiaries are suffering and running from pillar to post for the last many months to know, why they have been ignored for payment.
The concerned higher authorities in Ministry of Home Affairs assured us many times that a team of officers concerning disbursement will shortly be sent to Jammu to make the system smooth and fool-proof but till date their arrival is being awaited.
