JAMMU, July 25: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) today urged the Central Government to pay Rs 30 lakh each to every displaced family of 1947 from PoK as one time settlement package in the economic package being redrafted by it.
In the group meeting of JKSAC held here today, its president, Gurdev Singh, also appealed the Union Government to extend reservation to the wards of displaced persons of 1947 from PoK in State and Central services as per the recent recommendations of Joint Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs.
He also urged to Government to include 5300 left out families in the financial package. He reiterated that compensation package should be drafted separately for each category of DPs taking into consideration their material and physical loss.
