JKSAC announces office bearers, highlights displaced persons’ demands

JAMMU, June 19: Jammu and Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) today announced the office bearers.
Addressing a press conference, chief patron, JKSAC RK Raina said that Advocate Gurdeep Singh Pandey has been appointed as president of the committee, whereas Sanjeev Sharma as vice president, Advocate Ronik Sharma as general secretary-cum-spokesman, Daler Singh as secretary and Jagdeep Singh as joint secretary. Gagandeep Singh and Dr Varun Khajuria have been appointed as members of the committee, he informed.
While speaking, Gurdeep Singh Pandey demanded rehabilitation of displaced persons at their native places and also demanded compensation for the losses they had suffered.
Ronik Sharma, spokesman, JKSAC, said that despite regular pleas to various political parties for adequate monitory compensation and administrative support as regards rehabilitation in trade, education and services, no attention has been paid till date.
He demanded regular registration of PoK DPs vis-à-vis their property details, mention of areas of J&K in PoJK in all future reference by the Government, issuance of State Subject Certificate/ PRC to the PoK DPs.
He also demanded compensation for the losses suffered by them, special concessions for DP families in education, employment and trade finance, etc.
