JAMMU, Sept 20: Jammu and Kashmir Poshe Cultural Society (JKPCS), J&K, would organize All India Painters’ Camp from September 30 to October 2, 2014 at Jammu to pay homage to the deceased and to collect relief fund for the flood victims of the State.
Twenty artists from all over the country including artists of the State will participate in this camp.
The decision to organize the said camp was taken in a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Society, held here under the direction of Shamim Azad, patron, JKPCS.
The meeting also discussed various issues related to the conduct of its activities during the coming days of the session. The meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Raj Kumari Magazine, president of the Society while U K Handoo, CA, was the special invitee on the occasion.
OP Sharma, general secretary, JKPCS reflected the activities and programmes undertaken by the Society in the past and put before the members the proposals for discussion in the meeting.
Besides All India Painters’ Camp, the Society also decided to organize the activities like a State level Art Exhibition for the artists (in the field of Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Print making and Photography) in the age group of 16 to 40 years, a felicitation of intellectuals in the field of Art, Literature and Culture, Talent Hunt Programmes in the field of Music, Dance and Visual Arts and two operas – one in Dogri and other in Kashmiri.
The Society also decided to organize social programmes for the betterment of the society.
Kailash Mehra, vice-president, JKPCS, OP Sharma, general secretary, Sunaina Koul, treasurer and Usha Magazine, secretary also attended the meeting.
