JKPCC workers seek enhancement of Bank balance certificate

Srinagar, Apr 25: Small peace workers of Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) today sought the enhancement of Bank balance certificate for lower capacity workers and contractors.
According to a statement issued here by an NGO, Saein Kasheer, the peace workers urged the Managing Director of the JKPCC to enhance the Bank balance certificate for Rs. 5.00 lakh to Rs. 2.50 lakhs and Rs 1.25 lakhs.
“The JKPCC has issued orders for registration of peace workers… Some peace workers have submitted the forms but lower groups are not in position to submit the same due to financial limitation,” the statement said.
As per the statement, the lower income groups are doing the works of Rs. 0.50 lakh, Rs. 1.00 lakhs, Rs. 2.00 lakhs and 3.00 lakhs. “These workers are doing the works of the small nature and there is need of showing bank balance above Rs. 5 lakh. Hence the modification on the humanitarian grounds is the need of hour,” the statement added.
The peace workers also urged the concerned authorities to catagorise the workers into classes in works.
