JAMMU, May 28: The Medical & Surgical Traders Association (MSTA) has alleged that Jammu Kashmir Medical Supplies Corp Ltd (JKMSCL) has failed to make payments worth crores to the suppliers/ traders for the last about ten months.
In a meeting of the Association held here today under the chairmanship of S K Chopra, the members expressed serious concern over the delay being caused in making their payments. They said the medicines supplied to the Corporation are tested in the Labs outside the state and also by the J&K Drugs Department and then allowed to supply. They have to go through all the channels required before making any supply but despite this their payments are not released.
They said that after appointment of the new Managing Director of the Corp, Inderjeet Bhagat , they are facing problems in the release of their payments. They said that the payments are being stopped on the flimsy grounds. They sought the intervention of Chief Minister, who is chairperson of the Corporation and the Chief Secretary in this regard.
