2 killed, one injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, May 28: Two persons were killed while one other was injured in three separate road accidents in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a pedestrian identified as Rahul Thappa (14) son of Parshotam Lal, resident of Channi Himmat, sustained serious injuries this morning when an unknown vehicle hit him at Marble Market, Channi Himmat.
The grievously injured boy was immediately rushed to Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar. But he was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while a case in this connection was registered at police station Channi Himmat and investigations started.
Similarly, an unidentified female pedestrian of age about 30-35 years was killed tonight after she was hit by some unknown vehicle at Kalajaad in the jurisdiction of police station Jhajjar Kotli. The body of the deceased was shifted to GMCH Jammu for post mortem while a case in this connection was registered at police station Jhajjar Kotli.
Another mishap occurred near Satwari airport, where an unknown car hit and injured a man identified as Parminder Singh (30) son of Joginder Singh, resident of Bakshi Nagar. He was shifted to GMCH for treatment. Satwari police had registered a case in this connection.
