JKMEF urges Govt to fill post of Director Health Services

JAMMU, May 19: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) has urged the Government to fill up the post of Director Health Services without further delay as public as well as employees are wandering from pillar to post to get their genuine work done as the post is lying vacant for last more than 45 days.

Addressing a press conference here today, JKMEF president Sushil Sudan said that the post of Director Health Services is lying vacant from 1st April 2023 after the retirement of Dr Saleem Ur Rehman. He said due to non availability of Director Health Services and Director Family Welfare, a lot of work is lying pending in both the wings of the Health Department.
“It is first time in history after independence that such a decorative post have been kept vacant for prolong time. Many employees are waiting for their transfer for which the portal has been closed on 01-04-2023,” Sudan said and requested the Government to keep this portal open till the post of Director Health Service is not filled.
He further said that a number of files of Health employees and public are waiting the nod of Director Health for terminal ill patients who are waiting to get their treatment of Kidney/Liver Transplant from higher institutes.
The JKMEF president also urged to Government to consider other demands of the employees viz. release of salary of FMPHW which is pending from last six month. He appealed the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and the Chief Secretary Dr Arun Mehta to solve the issue of permanent employees at the earliest.
Others present in the press conference were Madan Lal Sharma, Sanjay Choudhary, Kulwant Singh and Tejinder Singh.
