JKMEF holds protest dharna in support of demands

JAMMU, Feb 2: The Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) today held a day-long protest dharna in the office complex of Directorate of Health Services Jammu under the chairmanship of Sushil Sudan, president, JKMEF.
A large number of employees from all over the Jammu province participated in the dharna to press for their demands which include doing promotion strictly in accordance with seniority, clearance of DPC at par with Government Medical College/Drug & Food Control Organization on the pattern of Executive Order passed by the Administrative Department till the SRO-20 (Recruitment Rules) is modified and implementation of amendment of SRO 20 dated 24-02-1992 which is pending since more than 15 years.
Their demands include upgradation of posts of Pharmacists as Senior Pharmacist, Sup Pharmacist, Head Pharmacist, Block Pharmacy Officers and District Pharmacy Officer, enhancement of FTA of Field staff (Malaria/Leprosy) from Rs 45 to Rs 1000 per month, Risk allowance for all non Gazetted Employees working in Health and Family Welfare Department and permanent solution of Salary Head 2211-Family Welfare as the salary of the employees working under 2211 Head are pending for more than six months which should be released immediately.
They also demanded promotion of Female Multipurpose Health Workers who are trained LHVs in new OHCs, fixation of 50% quota for promotion as Health Educators and rank promotion to FMPHWs at par with Pharmacists, Laboratory, Dental Technicians and others, removal of pay anomalies in the pay scale of Ministerial Staff and other categories, over time allowance to all employees who are performing 12 hours night duty, release of two and half days pay incentive in favour all non-gazetted employees, etc.
Prominent among those who addressed the dharna include Sushil Sudan (president, JKMEF), Vinod Kumar Sharma (secretary general).
