JAMMU, May 17: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF), Gandhi Nagar Hospital discussed their demands in a meeting held today under the presidentship of Rakesh Bakshi.
While addressing the employees, Rakesh Bakshi said that the administrative department of health & family welfare has failed to frame rules of promotions and conduct a departmental promotion committee (promotions) of all categories in the health department, which has been pending for the last four years. He said as a result several higher grade posts have been lying vacant in the Department including Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu and Government Hospital Sarwal Jammu.
He further alleged that the administration failed to resolve the permanent salary issue of Female Multipurpose Workers and other staff getting salaries under Head -2211 Family Welfare. The salary of FMPH Workers and other staff has been pending for the last five months, and the employees and their families have been facing hardship and are on the verge of starvation, he added.
The employees present in the meeting urged the UT Government to register leftover Government in-service Pharmacists under the new Pharmacy Act 1948 Section 32-C, which was implemented in UT after the abrogation of Article 370. They also demanded the restoration of the old pension scheme for all UT employees on the analogy of neighboring states.
Speaking on the occasion, Sushil Sudan (president JKMEF Jammu) urged the employees to participate in strike/Kaam Chhor Hartal on 24-05-2022 from 10 am to 1 pm.
