JKHWF deputation submits memorandum to CM

JAMMU, July 8: A deputation of J&K Handicapped Welfare Forum (JKHWF) today submitted its memorandum of demands through Deputy Commissioner, Samba for onward submission to Chief Minister (CM) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for early redressal of long pending demands of the handicapped persons.
The demands taken up in the memorandum include clearing all the pending cases of pension of disabled persons, enhancement of monthly pension from Rs 400 to Rs 8000 per month for persons with 40% and above disability, enhancing reservation quota from 3% to 10%, establishment of State Commission, special safeguard for the handicapped employees regarding transfers and postings, special benefits to the disabled Government employees, reservation of seats in State Carriage (Government/private) buses, special allowance for children, for women with disabilities, education allowance for disabled children of Government employees, etc.
The Forum also demanded that the world disabled day be declared as holiday for all disabled persons who are in Government services.
