JKHCBA asks Govt to provide basic facilities to border migrants

JAMMU, Jan 24: J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu has asked the Government to provide all the basic facilities to the migrants of border areas so that they may not suffer during ongoing winter season and can save their lives.
In a statement issued, President of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, Advocate Sachin Gupta said that Jammu and Kashmir has been witnessed heavy shelling from the Pakistan side in the areas starting from Kathua to Poonch.
Every time when the shelling starts, the people who are living within the close vicinity of International Border and Line of Control (LoC) have to migrate to the safer locations, he said, adding that recently due to the heavy firing and shelling in the border areas, most of the people residing in RS Pura, Samba, Arnia, Akhnoor, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch have to migrate to safer places for saving their lives.
The Association came to know that the administration is lethargic in providing proper facilities and accommodating to the border migrants, Gupta said and demanded that the Government should provide all the basic facilities including medical facilities, accommodations and clothing to the border migrants so that they may not suffer during the ongoing winter season and can save their lives.
Sachin Gupta further demanded permanent arrangements for the residents of the border areas.
Prem Sadotra, General Secretary strongly condemned the coward act of the Pakistan in targeting the civil population and appealed to the Central Government to give befitting reply to the Pakistan.
