JKHB planning construction of 30000 new housing units: FC

JAMMU, Oct 19: Financial Commissioner, Housing and Urban Development Department, K.B Aggarwal today said that the Housing Board is working on modalities for developing new housing colonies in Jammu with a target of constructing around 30000 housing units for the people.
He informed this during his visit to the various proposed sites along with Managing Director, J&K Housing Board Raj Kumar Katoch, Vice Chairman Jammu Development Authority Pawan Rathore and other concerned officers.
Financial Commissioner visited the proposed sites at Bhalwal, Jagti, Majin Sidhra and Upper Thather, Jammu and took first hand appraisal of the available land and other issues.
While stressing on the need to expedite the process, Aggarwal directed the JKHB and JDA to work in tandem to remove the bottlenecks to execute these projects of providing affordable housing for all in a time bound manner.
