JKGLTA discusses burning demands

JAMMU, May 22: Jammu & Kashmir Government Laboratory Technician Association (JKGLTA), Jammu discussed their long pending demands in a meeting held today under the presidentship of Aslam Choudhary (president, JKGLTA).
During the meeting, JKGLTA president demanded that the Departmental Promotion Committee meeting be conducted at the earliest. He alleged that the administrative department of health & family welfare has failed to frame rules of promotions and conduct DPC, which has been pending for the last four years. Aslam also emphasized on restoration of the old pension scheme for all UT employees on the analogy of neighboring states.
He further stated that the administration failed to resolve the permanent salary issue of Female Multipurpose Workers and other staff getting salaries under Head -2211 Family Welfare. He also urged the UT Government to register leftover Government in-service Pharmacists under the New Pharmacy Act 1948 Section 32-C, which was implemented in UT after the abrogation of Article 370.
It was decided in the meeting to observe Kaam Chhoro Hartal on May 24 from 10 AM to 1 PM, exempting emergency services from the preview of strike.
