JKGEJAC demands release of 11 percent DA

JAMMU, July 16: J&K Government Employees Joint Action Committee (JKGEJAC) in a meeting today held under the chairmanship of Babu Hussian Malik its president discussed the issue of Dearness Allowance (DA) as announced by the Central Government.
All the members welcomed the decision of Central Government for defreezing the release of 11 percent DA in favour of Central Government employees for last one year.
An appeal was made to Government in the meeting for release of increased DA in favour of UT employees and pensioners before Eid -ul-Azha . Further all the members appealed the Central Government for release of pending arrears of DA as the dearness is at its peak and employees are facing huge problems.
The employees demanded removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre, increase in Medical Allowance, from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month, employees of JK UT be given benefits at par with other UTs and Central Government, regularization of daily wagers, casual laborers, contractual , Asha workers, NHRM employees, Home Guards, contractual teachers, lecturers, Rehbar-e-Khel , Rehbar-e-Janglat, Rehbar-e-Zirat, SPOs and all other temporary employees.
They also demanded minimum Wages Act be implemented in the UT of J&K and also urged the Government to redress the long pending demands of the employees in the interest of administration and welfare of its employees.
The meeting among others was attended by Yashpal Sharma, Meenakshi Sharma, Munish Sharma, Arun Kumar Sharma, Sham Singh, Lekh Raj Sharma, Naresh Sharma, S R Rathore, Arjun Dass, Neeraj Sharma, Naresh Kumar, Vikas Chander, Sham Lal, Rakesh Singh, Mohammed Arif, Vikas Sharma, Madan Lal , Ashok Singh, Sanjeev Singh, Hafiz -ul- Rehman etc.
