JAMMU, May 11: J&K Forest and MFP Industrial Association (JKFCA) today held a meeting under the president-ship of Sanjay Gupta and raised various issues related to traders’ livelihood.
The meeting was attended by Mohan Lal, B Raja, Bashir Ahmed, Vikrant Kapoor, Arshad Raja, Manhohar Lal Bhagat and Javed A Khan.
They said that the industrial unit holders/ aggregators have been rendered without any raw material and trade for NTMFP for the last five years but no concrete step has been taken by the department concerned so far.
“The matter was discussed in previous meetings with PCCF& Commissioner Secretary Forest to provide arrangements for industries/ aggregators to sustain on the herbs for value addition and further resale outside the state to realize the economy of the rural segment but nothing happened so far,” they said.
The entrepreneurs of this trade sought a policy to be framed for the revival of the industries involved in this trade so that they can get their worth of investment and regulate this entire system once again in rural segments where the sources are limited for generating employment on local raw materials, they said.
