JKEPL holds meet, discusses issues

JAMMU, May 11: Jammu and Kashmir Ex-Policemen League (JKEPL) District Jammu held a meeting under the chairmanship of its President Satwanter Kumar Arora, which was attended by executive body members of the League.
In the meeting, various issues were discussed including appointment of Nodal Officer and Grievances Cell Redressal Forum for liaisoning among police, home, finance and constitution of Accountant General J&K for better coordination, enhancement of medical allowance, removal of pay anomalies in the back drop of implementation of pay commissions, widening the scope of welfare measures and programmes, participation in National functions, festivals and sports events and bondage between ex-policemen and serving personnel.
Some other issues, which were discussed include reservation quota for the wards of policemen in recruitment, enhancement of scholarship amount, regularization in the ranks and implementation of court orders, withdrawal of security of protected persons, participation in Police Welfare Committee meeting, welfare of the families of police martyrs, dignified performance of last rites and revival of SRO under the Police Welfare Board.
In the meeting, the members resolved to press their demands for the welfare of the whole police fraternity and to make the police force strong, imbibe professionals to meet all internal and external challenges for everlasting peace and crime free society.
Among others present were Amjad Pervez Mirza, BR Kaul, Babu Hari Chand, Mohammad Shafi, Ved Bali, Veshu Pal Gupta, Gulzar Ajmed, DD Sharma, Joginder Singh, Dhain Singh, KP Singh, Parshotam Bali, Jarnail Singh, RK Bali, etc.
