JAMMU, Jan 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) today held a meeting of its executive body under the chairmanship of Sachin Tickoo, general secretary along with Ashok Kumar Dubey, vice president, MP Singh, Provincial secretary, Rajeshwar Jamwal, Provincial publicity secretary, Yash Paul organising secretary, Vipul Sharma treasurer, Parshotam Lal Sharma and discussed threadbare the delay in the promotions and the adjustment of the Chief Engineers and Assistant Executive Engineers.
The members expressed strong resentment that despite collective efforts to sensitize the Government on host of issues pertaining to the employees of the Power Development department in the recently concluded talks and agreement thereof on the major issues’, no headway has been witnessed and a lackluster approach is being adopted by the administration. The fraternity is failing to understand why the placements/promotions on vacant positions at all levels right from AE to SE levels are pending for months in the office of Chief Secretary and General Administration Department who are being forwarded the files by administrative department in the absence of Advisor in the Power Development Department.
Nearly 100 positions of AE, 50 positions of AEE, 20 positions of XEns and nearly 15 positions of SE are vacant and more retirements are taking place and the eligible candidates are being deprived of the promotion opportunity by virtue of inordinate delay inexplicable as they are superannuating with each passing day.
The adjustment of the promote Chief Engineers has not been done despite having been placed as Chief Engineers since over two months. The Adjustment of Assistant Executive Engineers who were promoted nearly 12 months back is still awaited.
The regularization process needs to be expedited and a renewed impetus is needed to do justice to the huge backlog pending with the Government.
While acknowledging the concerted efforts of PDL/TSL/Need based workers across J&K the inclement weather, JKEEGA urges the administration to fulfill the commitment made with respect to the regularization of the PDL/TDL whose DPCs are cleared since 2019 and other similarly situated staff of Tech/ministerial candidates as per the agreement post the calling off of work boycott. Further it also seeks the registration of non-registered casual workers who are working continuously as per the records but are not getting wages as their names have not been registered on the portal.
