JAMMU, June 15: Jammu & Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) met today under chairmanship of Harvrinder Singh, president, JKEEGA, to discuss various issues concerning the fraternity.
During the meeting, the speakers said that in spite of the growth in JKPDD assets and consequent responsibilities to manage these assets, the resultant work load has increased manifold and the existing technical staff is putting their heart out to operate the system.
“At present even the existing sanction strength is being kept unfilled breaking the spinal of the staff by additional charges. There are 8 posts of chief Engineers, about 100 posts of Assistant Executive Engineer and more than 100 posts of Assistant Engineers are lying vacant in Power Development Department”, they said, adding, filling of these already vacant posts will not only boost the morale of the employees but it will also create avenues of opportunities for young Graduate Engineers who are seeking employment in our State.
In the meeting, other major issues concerning the fraternity were also discussed threadbare like regularization at all levels which has not taken place since last 18 years. The other burning issues discussed includes, 4260 GP clarification of Junior Engineers.
The speakers further said though pay-anomaly committee had recommended for the up-gradation of Pay Band of Junior Engineers from Pre-Revised 4500-7000 to PR 5700-10100, which was also approved by the then Cabinet but still due to lack of will of finance department in issuing of clear cut clarification, it has created pay anomaly by illegitimately placing Junior Engineers in Pay Scale PR 5000-8000 since year 2011.
“Time and again a clarification is sought from Finance department over the issue but later is maintaining silence and there is no disposal of this issue since last 7 years”, they said and requested Power Minister Sunil Sharma to kindly take up this matter immediately with Finance Department for its timely disbursal & conclusion.
