JAMMU, June 3: J&K Electrical Engineering Graduates’ Association, (JKEEGA) has appealed the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh who also holds the portfolio of Power, to issue directives to authorities in PDD to adhere to a transparent transfer policy so that no favouritism prevails in the department.
The JKEEGA in an emergency meeting held here today chaired by its president, Er. Doulat Ram Bhagat has sought immediate intervention of Dr Singh in the matter. The meeting urged him look into the matter and take appropriate steps so that norms of fare transfer policy is strictly adhered to and the engineers who don’t have access in the corridors of Power may not suffer further.
The meeting demanded that Government should adhere to a transparent transfer policy as has been agreed by the DCP Power during a recent meeting with the Association office bearers. It alleged that some blue eyed boys are being posted on their choice by modifying the transfer orders within days. This has generated a resentment among the power engineers especially those serving in far flung areas from a pretty long time and who are not being transferred in their localities as they have no access in the corridors of power.
The meeting pointing towards different orders issued by Development Commissioner Power where in through a corrigendum the previous orders issued a one month back were modified.
It said prior to issuance of these orders the JKEEGA had a meeting with DCP where besides other issues, the issue of transparent transfer policy was also discussed and it was brought into his notice that engineers working outside the Jammu and in the remote areas should also be given chance to work in Jammu city so that justice is prevails. The DCP agreed in principle and assured to do the needfull in this regard but the recent orders have created disappointment amongst the fraternity.
The meeting said JKEEGA on one hand had lauded the decision of the Government for not giving extension to the retired officers but on the other hand the policy of providing additional charge to some officers seems to be a mockery. It said this way it is also difficult for such officers to do justice with extra responsibilities put on them. As a matter of fact this is also a clear cut injustice to the other deserving engineers who are at the fag end of their carriers.
