JKDF takes out candle light procession

JAMMU, Apr 26: Activists of JKDF today held a candle march to express  solidarity with women and children who have become  the victims of growing sexual abuses in the country.
The candle march  was led by District Jammu Urban President Arun Khanna along with hundreds  of party activists holding candles in their hands chanting of anti rape slogans. They passed through the main bazaar of city. The candle  march which started from Raghunath Mandir Chowk and culminated at Purani Mandi  witnessed the large participation of  women activists of party. The candle march was organized to apprise the Government to take serious note of growing cases of rape and sexual abuses against the  children and women folk.
While speaking on insure the occasion Arun Khanna said, “common  man particularly women  feel insecure in this country owing to the soft approach of  Government towards   criminals. In the Indian Society where women traditionally are held at  high esteem and are even worshipped like goddesses   are now  humiliated and abused to such an extent that there is no parallel example even from the stone age era.  Small children are being made victims of these abuses, he added.
JKDF strongly condemn such atrocities on women and pledged to fight against the criminals and crimes against the fair sex. JKDF warn the Government at Centre as well as at State to take effective steps to check  such crimes against the women and ensure speedy justice to the victims of this horrible crime.
The decision to take out the candle light procession was taken in a meeting of the party held under the chairmanship of its president Anil Gupta.
