JAMMU, July 6: Chairman, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF), Anil Gupta, visited Subhash Nagar, Talab Tillo, and Resham Ghar colony and assessed the damages caused to local residents due to heavy rains.
The rainy water entered into the houses thereby causing damage to household items including ration. Lanes were filled with mud, whereas water supply and electricity were still to be restored.
Anil Gupta while speaking said that JKDF would extend all possible help to the flood victims in order to bring the life back to normalcy in these areas.
Gupta appealed the Government to immediately sanction some relief to the residents and also assess the damages caused due to heavy rains.
On the direction of Anil Gupta, Prashant Puri, JKDF leader along with Vinoo Khanna, senior leader, JKDF Women Wing distributed rice, flour, pulses and other essential materials amongst 92 affected families of Subhash Nagar, Talab Tillo and Resham Ghar colony.
Among others present were Vivek Raja, Ajay Manhas, Rakesh Gupta, Kailash Kumar and Mangal Singh.
