SRINAGAR, Apr 30:  Jammu and Kashmir Awami Forum today announced Abdul Rashid Banday as its new president.
The forum spokesperson said following reports of misappropriation against the previous President, Farooq Ahmad Ganaie,  it  has decided to replace him. “We found that the chairman was involved in misappropriation wherein he has looted the public money, resulting in betrayal of trust,” he said.
He added in view of the alleged misappropriation, lack of support from the members and violation of code of conduct a decision was taken that the Chairman and Sobai Sadder stand expelled.
The spokesperson said that Sobai Sader, Ghulam Mohammad Chopan, was found guilty of distorting the image of the forum.
He said that the core group has decided for the betterment and transparency of the forum. “ The forum prescribed a new constitution and announces name of new members with their respective position,” he said.
