JAMMU, Oct 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with Government College for Women Parade, Jammu, organized a multi-lingual Kahani Goshti programme in the college auditorium.
Anjali Sharma I/C Director Doordarshan was chief guest on the occasion while Dr Lalit Magotra, prominent Dogri scholar and writer was guest of honour of the function, which was presided over by former Secretary of the Academy, Dr Rita Jatindra. Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary of the Academy also shared the presidium.
Speaking on the occasion, Anjali Sharma appreciated the role of Academy especially with changing trends in doing programmes by the J&K Cultural Academy.
Prof Rita Jatindra, in her address, hoped that through this multi-lingual Kahani Goshti, students present in the auditorium will get inspired for becoming future short story writers.
Dr Lalit Magotra said that the fast changing time scenario has compelled the change in working trends in the society. He further said that the steps taken by the Academy to reach to the youth for the promotion of Art, Culture and Languages deserve appreciation.
Earlier Dr Arvinder Singh Amn said that recognizing the pulse of the fast changing time in the society, new trends have been adopted in executing the programmes. The Academy is trying to penetrate the instinct of talent of creative writing through reaching the young generation.
Renowned and national acclaimed short story writers, including Dr Manoj Sharma (Dogri), Khalid Hussain (Punjabi), S S Anand Lehar (Urdu) and Rattan Lal Shant (Hindi) presented the stories.
Azra Choudhary, Editor Hindi, conducted the proceeding of the programme while Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri, extended vote of thanks.
