JKAACL organizes devotional song prog

JAMMU, Nov 11:  With a motive to promote music and to provide a platform to the budding artists of the State, a devotional song programme was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) at K.L. Saigal Hall here today in which galaxy of renowned singers of the State participated.
Additional Secretary JKAACL, Savita Bakshi was the chief guest on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Savita Bakshi said that aim of organizing such events was to promote music besides to preserve and maintain the continuity of the music, adding that art and artists have long term relation and real art deserves appreciation. She gave detailed information of the various programmes organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
Making a fervent appeal to the young artists to concentrate on such meaningful events containing art and culture stuff, Savita Bakshi said that such occasions would be a real contribution towards society. “Music is the most effective medium of awakening the society from the deep slumber of ignorance and selfishness and transform their lives and ideas”, she added.
Prof. Jasmeet Kour of Government Degree College for Women, Parade presented a Bhajan which was highly applauded by the audience.
