JAMMU, Dec 23: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Duggar Manch, an NGO dedicated towards promotion of Dogri language today jointly organized a literary programme at KL Saigal Hall here today.
Dr Om Goswami, a renowned literary personality presided over whereas, Mohan Singh, president Duggar Manch and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages were also in the presidium.
Earlier, while delivering his presidential address Dr Om Goswami congratulated both the agencies who have taken sincere efforts for the promotion of art, culture and languages in the State. He said that such programmes not only gives way to interact with one another but also serves the purpose to achieve the target.
Dr Amn in his address said that J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu is for the writers, artist and intellectual and we people are the custodian. He said that Academy welcomes all those proposals from the NGOs and other which are meant for the development of art, culture and languages.
ND Jamwal, a national acclaimed personality in the literary field readout a detailed paper highlighting their importance of inclusion of Dogri languages in the 8th schedule and struggle taken by different NGOs. Dr Sushma Rani, presented a paper on the subject which was appreciated by all.
Welcome address was delivered by Mohan Singh who said it is a matter of pride that Dogri languages was included in the 8th schedule after a straggle of 12 years and now when it has received recognition it become our duty to take care of it and for this we have to pledge for taking this languages ahead by jointing hands together.
Yash Paul Nirmal, Research Assistant of the Cultural Academy conducted the proceedings of the programme whereas Ashok Gupta, editor Dogri in the Cultural Academy, delivered vote of thanks.
Among other present included Dhain Singh, Gianeshwar, Dr Vijay Seth, Ashok Gupta, Dr Rattan Lal Basotra, Azra Choudhary and a large number of literatures.
