JAMMU, July 19: District Youth Congress (DYC) Jammu Urban held a meeting at the Congress party office in Jammu here today where in PYC activists discussed the matter related to gearing up its activities.
Paramjeet Singh Pammi, Indian Youth Congress (IYC) Coordinator, Anirudh Sawhney, general secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress (JKPYC), Chairman of the Sports Cell, Adv Ranjot Singh, Rahul Tandon, general secretary of JKPYC and Samina Kausar, along with several office bearers of the District Congress Committee (DCC) attended the meeting.
The meeting was organized by Vankul Jamba, DYC president for Jammu Urban. The meeting centred around the discussions on forthcoming activity. Present members also discussed and strategised for upcoming protest on Saturday by J&K Youth Congress on their demand of restoration of Statehood and against recent terror attacks in J&K.
Later, State president of the Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC), Akash Bharat, joined the discussion. He briefed the members about Joint Seretary AICC and Incharge IYC . Krishna Allavaru’s upcoming three-day tour program to Jammu and Kashmir. The tour includes a crucial meeting on July 23 for the Kashmir province, followed by another on July 24 for the Jammu province.
Akash Bharat outlined various upcoming programs and protests, including the Ward Chalo Program and the Chalo Panchayat Program, which aim to address and protest against several pressing state issues.
During the meeting, Paramjeet Singh Pammi explained the ongoing programs of the Indian Youth Congress to the office bearers. He highlighted the importance of strengthening the party’s presence at the grassroots level and encouraged members to actively engage with local people. His emphasis was on working diligently at the grassroots to build a robust foundation for the party’s future endeavours.
Anirudh Sawhney, reiterated the urgency of election readiness, stating the J&K Youth Congress is now in election mode. He stressed the need for aggressive efforts to strengthen the organization in light of the approaching elections.
Sawhney urged Assembly presidents to form committees, appoint youth Ward presidents and booth presidents, and work tirelessly to garner support and strengthen the party at the grassroots.
