JAMMU, Feb 27: Jammu and Kashmir will witness massive development and the people will get round the clock power soon as the Centre is keenly interested in making J&K self power reliant. This was stated by former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa after inaugurating a 100 KVA transformer at Jogi Mohalla, Shiv Nagar of Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment today.
While addressing the people Randhawa said that the area was facing problems due to a low capacity transformer in the locality. He said that the matter was brought to his notice which was taken up with the concerned authorities appropriately.
Randhawa expressed his satisfaction that the locality has got a new upgraded transformer of 100 KVA which will address their problem of load shedding and fluctuation. Speaking on the occasion Randhawa also urged upon the people to use power judiciously as it will not only save money but will save power also which will help in maintaining regular power supply round the clock. He also urged upon the people to pay their power bills in time to help Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation (JKPDC) to become financially viable.
He said that a financially viable JKPDC can ensure round the clock power supply to the people during Summers when the people require it most. The locals present on the occasion assured Ch. Vikram Randhawa that they will use power judiciously and will pay tariff every month. They also expressed their gratitude to the former MLC for sincerely mitigating their long pending demand of an upgraded transformer in the locality.
