JK Teachers meet Dr Jitendra; seek his intervention for DPC, other demands

NEW DELHI, Dec 18: A deputation of the All Jammu Kashmir Ladakh Teachers Federation, affiliated to Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shakshik Mahasangh, called on Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh here today and sought his intervention for implementation of the DPC, transfer policy and Old Pension Scheme.
The deputation, led by Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shakshik Mahasangh National Auditor /State President Devraj Thakur and Rattan Sharma, General Secretary, submitted a memorandum to the minister and complained that the teacher community working in the Jammu Kashmir was going through stress and humiliation because of non-redressal of their genuine issues of DPC, transparent Transfer policy and restoration of old pension system.
The deputation informed the minister that there was no DPC of the Teachers in Jammu and Kashmir for the last eight years. Highlighting all their issues and demands in detail, the deputation sought appropriate actions and instructions for the Education Department to fulfill the long pending demands of teaching community.
Seeking restoration of Old Pension Scheme (OPS), AJKLTF claimed that NPS is totally against the employees and is injustice with employee as well as their family members. “NPS does not guarantee minimum pension to the employees and the Government should immediately withdraw the ordinance in this regard,” it demanded.
Dr Singh gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured the aggrieved teachers that based on the representation made by them, he would get the issue examined .
Others who were part of the deputation, included Gulshan Kumar Raina, Gurdeep Kumar and Rakesh Kumar Sharma.
