SUNDERBANI, Dec 18: Terming ‘Bharat Jodo’ Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi a biggest ever as ‘Jan Andolan’ in the country post independence, JKPCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma has said that non- violent Satyagreh- Jan Andolan is the only way out to fight against the repressive policies of the authoritarian rule of BJP.
Former MLC, Ravinder Sharma said this while addressing a preparatory meeting here today in connection with upcoming ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
Sharma said that Congress would launch series of ‘Jan Andolans’ over various problems faced by the common and poor people especially farmers in J &K ,who are being deprived of their lands illegally in violation of the rights accrued to them for continuous possessions.
Urging the party workers and people and members of civil society to join ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ led by Rahul Gandhi in large number, Sharma said that as part of Yatra another phase of Yatra shall be undertaken in each area and constituency level to highlight the local problems apart from record unemployment and jobs scams and unprecedented price hike.
He said that the Rahul Gandhi led Yatra has received tremendous response all over and the biggest ever rousing reception awaits him in J&K. It has given voice and strength to the crores of people in the country about their respective issues.
A large number of party workers took pledge to whole heartedly support and join the Yatra in large numbers to highlight issues of people.
Block presidents N C Sharma, Teerath Ram, Ajit Singh, Yog Raj, Ashok Sharma, Raj Kumar, Chuni Lal, Sub Kashmir Singh, Om Parkash, Govnd Sudan, (YC),Vishav Sharma,Ashwani Sharma, Jagdish, Romesh Lal, Sham Lal, khem Raj and others attended.
Later, a procession was taken out in bus stand area against new old age pension formalities & land policies of the LG administration, snatching state and custodian land from farmers.
