JAMMU, Jan 19: Expressing grave concern over the fate of the people of Jammu & Kashmir, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, former minister and senior leader of Jammu & Kashmir National Conference today said that people have been badly hit by governance deficit by the BJP.
In a press statement here today, Sadhotra said adhocism and additional charge are destroying the vitals of the system. There is strong resentment among the caterers of different departments, for making the non- technical officers as head of technical Departments. The people are feeling helpless as there is no body to listen to their basic problems.
The People Service Guarantee Act enacted by then Omar Abdullah Govt has been dumped and there is no accountability resulting in deep wedge between the people and the Government which is not good for the country and the Jammu & Kashmir, being a bordering & sensitive, governance deficit also lead to alienation.
Sadhotra said, the farmers are feeling disgusted it constitutes over 80 % population. Their paddy and wheat crops have suffered 100 % loss due to untimely rains/ hailstorm but nobody is there to listen to them even losses have not been assessed. Govt has become totally insensitive towards problem of farmers.
He added that fast growing frustration and unrest among youth due to increase in unemployment is a matter of great concern. Non seriousness of the Govt on this important issue is certainly creating sense of insecurity among the youth, as Govt has stopped all recruitments. Poor people for want of schedule caste /OBC/Income certificate/ Ration Cards/Copies of revenue records/water/electric connections, get badly exploited and move from one end to other but there is no body to listen them.
Sadhotra added that PHE/Irrigation/ R&B/ MGNREGA liabilities are not being cleared. Development activities have come to stand still as no contractor wants to work. The executing Deptts. have no funds to do even minor and urgent works. People are facing problems due to burnt transformers and polls. Daily/casual/ need based workers are without wages and waiting for their regularization. Traders are facing economic crisis. Trade is badly hit, nobody listens to them. Sadhotra asked the J&K Administrative to become response to public issues.
