JAMMU, Dec 9: After assessing the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Moulana Suhaib Qasmi, Senior leader Bharatiya Janata Party and National Convenor Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) and Moulana Jalil Chisti, National Secretary Jamiat-Ulema-e-Hind said that Union Territory needs leaders not dealers.
In an exclusive interview with EXCELSIOR, they said that with ongoing District Development Council (DDC) elections, Jammu and Kashmir is heading towards a change, which will be witnessed in the time to come.
“In UT of J&K, leaders are required instead of dealers”, Qasmi said, adding that after the abrogation of Article 370, people especially the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are whole heartedly participating in the ongoing DDC elections.
Those leaders, whom people of UT Jammu and Kashmir especially Kashmir supported in the past 70 years have failed and in the time to come their existence will vanish, Qasmi said, adding that when the Kashmir centric leaders were in power they did nothing for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and when they know that their existence is perishing, they are indulging in cheap politics, but this time they can’t befool people.
“Jammu and Kashmir is in safe hand now and new leadership will lead the Union Territory to new heights”, Qasmi asserted, new leadership will take up the issues of the people with the Central Government directly for redressal.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked all the top BJP leaders to visit the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to aware the masses about their exploitation at the hands of Kashmir centric leaders especially People’s Declaration for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD)”, he informed.
Kashmir centric leaders exploited their own people of which they will get reply in the ongoing DDC elections, Qasmi said, adding that they created difference between the people in Jammu and Kashmir by playing cheap politics, but now their agenda will not go further as people of Union Territory are well aware about their politics.
“People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) is playing cheap politics to exploit the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the ongoing elections will be their last elections as after this the PAGD leaders are going to lose their existence”, he asserted.
Jammu and Kashmir needs new and strong leadership, which help in development at grass root level, Qasmi said, adding that he along with Chisti visited several areas of Poonch, Rajouri, Banihal, Ramban and interacted with the people especially Imams and Moulvis.
During the interaction, it came to fore that the people living in these areas need funds released by the Union Government to reach ground level so that development can take place.
When asked about the development of hilly areas of Doda and Kishtwar districts, Qasmi said that a lot of development has taken place in these districts, which was carried out under the leadership of MoS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh.
“World was supposed to witness new face of Kashmir, but due to Coronavirus and lockdown, it got suspended”, Qasmi said, adding that in the time to come, a new face of Kashmir will be in front of all especially those, who betrayed the people by their false and fake promises.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to bring sea change in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and for that people’s support is necessary”, Qasmi said and appealed to the people of Union Territory to give chance to BJP to serve them with dedication and loyalty, which Kashmir centric leaders failed in the past seventy years.
When asked about the activities being carried out by the Pakistan in India particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, Qasmi said that Muslim community people have exposed Pakistan of its ill-designs and is always supporting progressing India.
He appealed to the Moulvis and Imams of Jammu and Kashmir to aware the people about the propaganda of Pakistan and China as both are hell bent to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of India, which is emerging as super power under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While expressing his views, Moulana Jalil Chisti has appealed to the youth in Kashmir, who had joined the militancy ranks, to shun the path of violence and join the mainstream for the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir.
