J&K ICAI organizes seminar on GST Audit, professional ethics

JAMMU, Nov 16: The J&K Branch of the NIRC of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organized a seminar on GST Audit (GSTR9 & 9C), recent developments in GST and Professional Ethics.
CA Rohit Vaswani and CA Charanjot Singh Nanda (Central Council Member, ICAI) were the guest speakers on topics of GST Audit and Professional Ethics, respectively.
The first technical session was deliberated by CA Rohit Vaswani who gave a detailed point wise presentation on GST Audit which is required to be furnished by the auditors in form GSTR 9C. He also deliberated on the recent changes made in form GSTR9 & 9C and other recent developments in GST. Also, issues pertaining to GST pursuant to reorganization of J&K State were discussed by the Speaker.
During the second technical session, CA Charanjot Singh Nanda made a presentation on newly introduced ICAI Code of Ethics 2019 which is based on International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) Code of Ethics, 2018 edition and shall come into effect April 1, 2020. Both the speakers also addressed the various queries raised by the members on the subject matter.
CA Shalay Razdan, chairman of the branch, welcomed and introduced the guests. He said that there are a lot of issues pertaining to GST post reorganization of J&K State which still need to be addressed or require clarity from the Government.
CA Nakul Saraf, secretary of the Branch, conducted the proceedings of the seminar and CA Lalit Kumar Gupta, vice chairman of the Branch, presented the formal vote of thanks.
CA Vinay Jamwal, treasurer of the branch and JKCASA chairman of the branch, CA Arvind Jamwal along with a large number of chartered accountants were also present on the occasion.
