SRINAGAR, Aug 8: In order to enable smooth payments to the beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojna, J&K Bank’s all Treasury business units will remain open in the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh.
Notably, on the initiative taken by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare GOI, will release the second four-monthly installment (August-November 2020) tomorrow through a single click, under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojna to the already identified 8.5 crore beneficiaries.
In order to facilitate smooth payments to the PM-Kisan beneficiaries, Jammu and Kashmir Bank will keep all its Treasury branches open tomorrow in J&K and Ladakh and no other business activity shall be carried out on the day.
The bank in its statement said, “We will ensure that all our cash dispensing machines remain adequately replenished so that the PM-KISAN beneficiaries withdraw their payments smoothly and safely.”
Pertinently, the PM-KlSAN Yojna is meant to provide direct income support to all landholding farmer families across the country irrespective of the size of their landholding. Under the scheme an amount of Rs 6000 is granted in 3 four-monthly instalments in the bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
